AI SoC Research Division
Processors for artificial intelligence applications are tasked with processing heavy data and computation loads prescribed by complex deep neural networks. Research in the department includes the design, development, and implementation of a computationally concise and power efficient AI Processor architecture called “AB Processor” reaching 40 TFLOPS with the next generation aiming to be petaFLOPS-grade. Ongoing research projects are geared towards enhanced intelligence capability of semi-conductors and they include: visual Intelligence chip VIC, server multi-chip AI module, mobile LPDDR5 memory interface, ultra-low power intelligent edge processor, intelligent radar for drone and human life detection, implantable bio-signal processing, isotope based semi-permanent battery, ultra-small random number generator, etc. The department also actively participates in the international standardization of functional safety of semiconductors.
