Metro Underground Research Section
Sinkhole along urban traffic ways is induced by the unexpected subsurface mass loss (e.g., dewatering, piping erosion, and buried pipeline leak). The localized volume loss causes complex stress and displacement fields that depends on soil properties. The metro underground research section is engaged in various research activities aimed at investigating the likely effect that the sinkhole has on above-and around-urban tunnel, below rail track subsurface, revealing undesired events, and then providing advanced engineering solutions.
Our research section attempts to incorporate the current geotehchnology into IOT-based system and establish the most efficient platforms that can immediately capture the unexpected response of “entire railroad system” through real-time monitoring system and systematically perform the risk assessment.
