Supercomputing Technology Research Center
The Supercomputing Technology Research Center(STRC) is the general operating organization of the 'Development of computing node for supercomputer based on massively parallel processors(Supreme-K)‘ funded by Ministry of Science and ICT. The goal of Supreme-K is to develop technologies on core supercomputing HW and SW. To achieve such goal, we have established a grand consortium with ETRI, KISTI, thirteen university research labs, and three cooperations.
The main research areas of the Supreme-K project are ▲ a new massively parallel processor ▲ system SW optimized for parallel processing ▲ highly integrated supercomputing nodes and cluster systems ▲ open ISA-based high-performance processor core technology.
With the vision of challenging the status-quo to leap forward in HPC technology, STRC's role is to plan, lead, collaborate, run an execution strategy across all teams and support the overall R&D task of Supreme-K including planing a multi-phase integration and system validation. Lastly, STRC is to develop the overall strategy for exascale and post-exascale technologies with government agencies and other institutions.
