ETRI to Offer Healthcare Management through Smartphones
ETRI plans to develop a technological platform that enables smartphone users to store health records retrieved from hospitals and health equipment, and to provide such information to doctors and healthcare centers. By facilitating the collection of information on individuals’ health status, this technology will contribute to the expansion of personalized healthcare management services.

The ICT healing platform stores and manages personal health records, and offers connections to other health services. Under this platform, health information such as medical history, medications, blood pressure, and heart rate can be stored on smartphones or other personal devices.
The research team expects to analyze public health data and establish a knowledge map for healthcare management services. In addition, key services will be available as open technology, including big data technology to search for similar cases, health prediction technology based on time series data with utilization of data mining, and health enhancement method inference technology using life logs.

The platform will also be developed as a mobile app, and applied to commercial services through technology transfer to companies by 2018.
