Age of Exploration of Brain Research, The world is now striving to learn about the brain!All across the globe, brain research is proactively underway. In the US, the BRAIN Initiative, which aims to draw trillions of synapses connecting 86 billion nerve cells, is ongoing. Meanwhile, the European Union (EU) has started a project titled Human Brain Project, in which 135 institutions from 25 EU member states conduct joint research on brain science. Japan is no exception. Under the Brain/MINDS project, Japanese researchers are mapping the brain of primates. It is no exaggeration to say that the globe is now in another Age of Exploration of brain research.
Diving Deep into the ICT Festival
The 2018 ICT Commercialization Festival was successfully held from May 23rd to 26th at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event provided a venue for sharing private companies’ success stories of technology commercialization based on the R&D achievements of the government and public institutions, shaping the future of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The venue of this ICT festival was attended by 128 businesses presenting 168 technologies, including AI, drone, IoT, and cloud technologies. As Korea’s leading player in ICT, ETRI was also part of this veritable feast of ICT technologies.
