Mobile Convergence Research Department

The mobile communication evolves into the 4th generation mobile communication with the key features of broadband high-speed radio transmission and convergence for ubiquitous environment.

The 4th generation mobile communication has the goals of data transmission up to 600Mbps based on its high-speed radio transmission technology. This transmission capability makes high definition multimedia service feasible both in the indoor and outdoor environments.

The convergence technology covering various standards and systems that are optimized for the various communication environments offers the opportunity to enjoy the various mobile services on the one single device implemented from the variety of communication network systems.

Mobile Convergence Research Department is developing the core technology for the 4th generation mobile communication meeting these requirements and leading the international standardization arena.
