  Digital CATV Technology

Overview

We have been developing IP-based high speed multimedia transmission system and next generation digital cable transmission system to increase the efficiency of cable frequency resource, promote the smooth conversion from analog to digital broadcasting for HFC, and contribute to introduction of various cable services. The IP-based high speed multimedia transmission system will provide various broadcasting, telecommunication, and converged services through HFC network in near future.

  Terrestrial DTV Technology

Overview

We are developing broadcasting repeater/translator system to extend coverage and cover shaded area where broadcasting signal can’t reach. Frequency efficient and easy to construct broadcasting network will promote smooth transition from analog to digital, highly efficient use of terrestrial broadcasting frequency and new multimedia services. Moreover, advanced data transmission technology and service which is backward compatible with ATSC terrestrial DTV will be developed and tested in the field.

  3DTV Broadcasting Technology

Overview

3DTV is being considered as one of next generation broadcasting technology because it can satisfy the demands of human-beings for the realistic broadcasting service which is able to provide depth as well as reality. We are aiming to ensure and standardize essential 3D broadcasting technologies obtained during the development of 3D video acquisition and pre-processing, encoding/decoding/multiplexing, transmission, 3D display, and non real-time broadcasting services.

  Next Generation Mobile Broadcasting Technology

Overview

We have been developing digital mobile multimedia broadcasting technologies for high quality video and audio keeping backward compatibility with the T-DMB system. With a hierarchical modulation technology, enhanced data rate is possible for the T-DMB in the same frequency bandwidth. And also with a scalable video coding and a MPEG surround technology high quality video/multichannel audio service becomes possible, which can satisfy mobile receivers in the near future market.
