The Broadcasting & Telecommunications Convergence Research Laboratory has been actively researching on broadcasting and telecommunications convergence technology which is comprised of broadcasting, radio, and satellite to realize the future knowledge-based society which is enabled by naturally merging the media and communication into the human life.

We are focusing on the research of the core technology and its commercialization in the following areas: digital broadcasting, radio, and global area wireless technology. In recognition of the driving role of R&D in economic and industrial development, we have provided the brilliant achievements such as DMB, IPTV, global area wireless communication.

With the motto of "The irresistible wave of the future and the world best competitiveness", we will try hard to step up the Korean IT technology and lead the IT convergence with various legacy industry, which shall provide a huge contribution in the national economic development.

To become an international hub for broadcasting & telecommunications convergence research, the laboratory should strengthen the entire human resource and reinforce core technology for the next generation by focusing on developing expertise in the core fields of the next generation DTV core technology, DMB, and open IPTV technology. Satellite & Wireless Convergence Research Department is focusing on the development of satellite communication systems, satellite navigation system and transmission techniques for satellite broadcasting & communication. Radio Technology Research Department concentrates on cognitive radio technology and radio monitoring & protection technology. In addition to highlighting all of convergence-based IT technology, standardization and research on future technology also shows how we meet each unique customer's needs in a wide range of industries. And also we are still taking a quantum leap regarding the application and basic research.
