Next Generation Computing Department

Computing technologies in a knowledge-based society are being evolved to provide human-friendly computing services with better user convenience. They are being developed to the technology of creative computing that can be used anytime and anywhere by overcoming constraints of the performance, service boundaries, and shape of devices.

For human-friendly computing services, computing platforms have been expanding their features by improving the portability/wearability, and by adding more functions for the intelligency and sense-of-reality interaction.

Thus, the creative computing technologies which make users to utilize computing services freely have been focused to integrate environmental devices around a user into internet-based network computing resources, and to expand a service accessibility of various user devices.

Next generation computing research department is conducting researches on a human-friendly next generation computing and I/O technology, an intelligent platform, and a sense-of-reality/converged service. Such researches are aiming to develop technologies and systems for personal computing, social computing and wearable computing.
