Embedded SW has been mainly applied to mobile devices and white appliances such as mobile phones, information appliances, and home server. Currently it is being widely used in industries involving automobile, shipbuilding, and intelligent robots.
Embedded Software Research Department is developing linux-based embedded operating system, middleware, and support tools in order to secure global competitiveness in overall domestic key industries. Based on these study, we are researching and developing Embedded SW common platform which can be applied to various industries.
In addition, We are conducting researches on operating system for sensor node(NanoQplus), realtime operating system(ROSEK) for automobiles, and realistic sensor network simulator(RealSSim). We are also developing Cyber Physical System technology for high reliability guaranteed and autonomously controlled SW.
We are also doing research on mobile SW platform in order to make mobile equipments to operate effectively in mobile environment. We are mainly studying mobile middleware which supports application programs of mobile devices and mobile SW development environment which is used to test and verify the middleware. Especially standardizing activation for linux-based smart phones (LiMo) is on the process.
